Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh is one step closer this afternoon to being confirmed as the next member of the high court. In a procedural vote this morning, the Senate voted to advance Kavanaugh for final confirmation. Reports say that the final vote could take place tomorrow. The vote comes after a bitter partisan fight in the Senate -- and a final FBI investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh. The Senate Judiciary Committee held a widely-watched hearing last week during which one of Kavanaugh's accusers testified she was "100 percent" certain that Kavanaugh was one of her attackers. Kavanaugh also testified -- saying he was also "100 percent" certain the alleged incident never happened. And there is much more.

The winners of this year's Nobel Peace Prize were announced today in Oslo, Norway -- and both honorees are described as fierce advocates for the end of the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war. The second winner is a Congolese surgeon who continues to treat countless rape victims while also continuing to fight for this important cause.  Read on for more about the winners and their incredible efforts.
