Don't come back. That's the warning from the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to displaced residents of Florida's hard-hit Panhandle communities. Specifically, officials say stay away from areas in Bay County, Florida -- especially Mexico Beach -- which is now being called "ground zero" for hurricane damage. Michael caused catastrophic devastation as he roared through Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia -- where five people were killed. As of this morning, the death toll stands at 11 and authorities expect that number will grow as rescue teams continue their work. Right now, power is out in more than 1.4 million homes and businesses spanning from the Panhandle up to Virginia. The remnants of Michael are now out over the Atlantic Ocean and weather reports say strong winds and heavy rain are hitting New England's coast. Read on.
We know what happened. That's reportedly what Turkish officials are saying today about the disappearance of a Saudi journalist who lives in the United States and writes for the Washington Post. Jamal Khashoggi is a known critic of the Saudi government and his disappearance has made international news for days. There's been plenty of speculation as to what exactly happened to Khashoggi on October 2nd during a visit to Istanbul. Today, the BBC is reporting that Turkish officials say they have both audio and video proof showing he was tortured and killed inside the Saudi consulate. International businesses and leaders are now reportedly distancing themselves from Saudi Arabia because of the Khashoggi case. Saudi Aradia's leaders continue to strongly deny any wrong-doing. And there's a lot more.
THE PRINCESS BRIDE
Another royal wedding is in the books. Princess Eugenie married long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank earlier today at St. George's Chapel in Windsor. The newlyweds took a carriage ride around town before attending their wedding reception joining their 850 lucky guests -- phew, imagine the thank you notes for that one! Later in the evening, guests will attend a black-tie reception at Royal Lodge, the royal residence of Eugenie's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. The fun doesn't stop there -- the party continues on Saturday with an afternoon festival event complete with a fairground and food stalls. Check out photos and more details on celebrity guests here.
OUT THIS WEEKEND
"First Man" -- Claire Foy (sans British accent) and Ryan Gosling as Mr. and Mrs. Neil Armstrong in this look at their lives and the background of his nail-biting mission to the moon. Also, "Beautiful Boy" -- an emotional journey for a family coping with addiction over many years, starring Steve Carell. For the kiddos (and us too!) -- "Goosebumps 2" -- we loved the first one and we're looking forward to this spooky sequel.
We wish we could report to you that he's just been cast as a saxophone-playing bad boy who steals your heart. But then it would be 1985. Sorry, no "St. Elmo's Fire" reunion in the works that we know of, but we can tell you that actor Rob Lowe has a new project in the works: a British crime drama. "Wild Bill" will be a six-part miniseries about an American cop who's appointed chief of police in a rural English town. Is it co-starring any other members of the "Brat Pack?" Again, not that we know of, but we're still psyched.
