Today's Update

Not helping. That's what a Cherokee Nation official is saying about Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and her claims of tribal heritage. Yesterday, Warren released her own DNA test result that showed some evidence of a Native American lineage. Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. now says he believes Warren's decision to release the results is "undermining tribal interests," and that using a DNA test "to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong." In tweets this morning, President Trump again referred to Warren, his possible 2020 challenger, as "Pocahontas" saying she is "getting slammed" for being a "phony." Hoskin, meanwhile, has reportedly had some harsh words for Trump as well -- saying he "should not be calling her Pocahontas and should be looking at what the needs of Indian country are, because the needs are there."

President Trump says the King of Saudi Arabia completely denies any Saudi involvement in the disappearance of a missing journalist. Reports say the Turkish government has audio and video evidence proving that missing Washington Post writer, Jamal Khashoggi, was attacked by agents of the Saudi regime inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Trump now says Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is on his way to meet with Saudi King Salman -- and he also offered up another theory about what happened to Khashoggi -- saying "rogue killers," may have been involved. Meanwhile, a joint group of Turkish and Saudi investigators entered the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul today for a "joint inspection." Read on.

Lady Gaga's star continues to shine with an emotional acceptance speech at Elle's Women of Hollywood gala at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, CA last night. Gaga, who was introduced by Jennifer Lopez, spoke for almost 25 minutes sharing her experience with sexual assault at age 19 and the lack of mental health resources she so desperately needed -- but didn't have access to. It was a powerful night with numerous stars colliding and sharing their own experiences. More details here.

It's been a busy week for the royals and their extended families -- the latest bit of excitement being the birth of Pippa Middleton's first child yesterday. The Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister, 35, and her husband James Matthews welcomed the 8lb. and 9oz. baby boy -- who is the cousin of cuties Princes Louis and George and Princess Charlotte -- delivering the little guy three hours after checking into St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington mid-morning.
